A government pension at retirement is essentially a lifelong annuity worth crores in present value. If you’re under 35 and have under 10 years of service, the math usually favors switching because you have time to build private savings. If you’re over 40 with 15+ years in, think very carefully. Also factor in job security during recessions, IMF cycles hit private sector hard in Pakistan. My advice: take the private job only if the company is an established MNC with regional offices, not a local startup offering big numbers.
